New data on Ruby throated hummingbirf

Have you found anything out recently about hummingbirds? Well, I have! I have been following them for the past 12 years taking pictures of them in my backyard using the best equipment I can afford. Three years ago, I realized the ruby throated males do in fact help with the youngsters leading them to flowers and feeders, this fact is noted as a university thesis from Chicago; but there is more. I have been looking at past pictures and I have come to find something unexpected! As they get older, hummingbirds do come back to the same place as the year before but they arrive a little later as the years come. The younger hummies arrive first, these hummies might even get to do two breeding in the summer. This explains why we have to keep feeding them until October. The maman will go south only when their young are ready. Three to four year old females might even arrive at their destination mid June, by arriving this late, they will only breed once as they know a second breeding might jeopardize their own life.
